When You Need More Than General Advice

It’s not always easy to understand why your child is struggling.

Your child may be experiencing aggression, self-injury, tantrums, difficulties with daily routines, or another behavior that is interfering with everyday life. Maybe you’ve tried strategies that haven’t worked, or they’ve even made things worse. Or maybe you simply aren’t sure why the behavior is happening in the first place.

A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) looks closely at the patterns surrounding behavior to better understand what may be influencing it.

Together, we use that information to create an individualized plan with practical recommendations that fit your child, your family, and your usual routines.

Two Levels of Assessment

🔎 Focused Functional Behavior Assessment (Brief FBA) + Guided Support

A focused assessment may be a good fit if:

  • Your child is struggling with one specific behavior that has been resistant to other approaches (e.g., tantrums, self-injury, aggression)

  • More than one challenging behavior is involved, but they all center around a common situation or context (e.g., school drop-off, bed time, morning routines)

  • You want to be proactive and prevent the behavior or situation from escalating

Includes:

  • Parent interview and information gathering

  • Focused functional behavior assessment

  • Written summary with simple, easy-to-understand behavior support recommendations

  • Two follow-up consultation sessions to review progress and adjust strategies as needed

Fee – $950

📋 Comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessment (Full FBA) + Guided Support

A comprehensive FBA may be a better fit if:

  • Your child has multiple or more complex challenges across a variety of settings and people

  • These behaviors are significantly affecting your child’s learning, socialization, safety, or the safety of others

  • What you’ve tried hasn’t been working, or may even be making things worse

  • You’re looking for an in-depth, individualized plan of action that includes patterns, triggers, and environmental factors that are contributing to the challenges

Includes:

  • Detailed parent interview and observation

  • Comprehensive functional behavior assessment

  • Written behavior support plan with clear, applicable recommendations

  • Two follow-up consultation sessions

  • Email support during the implementation period

Fee – $1,750

Not sure which assessment is appropriate?

You don’t need to figure that out on your own. We’ll talk about your concerns during your free consultation and determine whether assessment is a good fit and, if so, which option makes the most sense.

How Does a Behavior Assessment Work Virtually?

Assessment where behavior actually happens.

Your child’s behavior doesn’t only exist in a clinic. It happens during meals, play, bedtime, transitions, getting dressed, interacting with siblings, and all the other parts of everyday family life.

Virtual assessment allows us to look at behavior within those real routines and environments.

Through parent interviews, virtual observation, structured information gathering, and caregiver-supported assessment when appropriate, we look for patterns in what happens before and after behavior and the circumstances in which it is most and least likely to occur.

From there, we’ll develop practical recommendations that fit your child, your family, and your actual routines.

No clinic visits. No travel. Assessment is available virtually to families throughout Kentucky.
